Microwave ovens can stop working if someone puts an object in it that has too much metal in it. Like my ditsy niece put a TV dinner into hers that was in an aluminum tray. It arced and sparked until it stopped working. She fried the magnetron.
Now if you’re lucky, there is a large fuse in most of them that can be replaced. If the problem is the fuse, you have to get someone to open it up and locate and test the fuse with an ohm meter. Some microwave ovens use the old fashioned screw in type fuse, but some of them use a specialty fuse that you can only get at an appliance repair shop. If the fuse didn’t blow fast enough then the magnetron could have fried and then you’re toast. A new microwave is cheaper than replacing a "maggie".
get a new one its broken happened to my parents once wouldn’t heat food up. Buy a new one its oblivious broken unless u want to go through the hassle to get it repaired
